Answer: tert−butoxideComparing ethoxide or tert−butoxide, the stronger base is the tert−butoxide. The conjugate acid of a tert−butoxide ion is three times that of the ethoxide ion making it less polar and a weaker acid. A weaker acid makes a stronger base.
