[tex] \bf \cfrac{4(3h-6)}{1+h}\implies \stackrel{\textit{h=-2}}{\cfrac{4[3(-2)-6]}{1+(-2)}}\implies \cfrac{4[-6-6]}{1-2}\implies \cfrac{4[-12]}{-1}
\\\\\\
\cfrac{-48}{-1}\implies 48 [/tex]

4(3[-2] -6) = -48.

1 + [-2] = -1.

when you have negatives on both the top and bottom, they cancel out and leave you with 48/1, which simplified to 48.
