An organism that lives in or on another organism, often with harmful side effects but without benefits is a parasite. Parasites feed off their host, who gives them everything they need, and in return get nothing but these harmful side effects. It is very difficult getting rid of a parasite, and this type of a relationship is only beneficial for one organism - the parasite.
