What is 3(x-1) -4x+5 combined? Also can you explain how you did it

You would distribute 3(x-1) and would get 3x-3. Next you have 3x-3-4x-5, then you would subtract -4x and 3x and would end up with -1x. Finally add -5 and -3 and end up with -8. Your answer would be -1x-8. (If your supposed to solve it, divide -1x by -8. The answer would be x=8)
