Why isn't badminton consider a sport to most of the people in United States?

I think it's that the American culture is not used to the sport as much as say Europe. America is adept to rough and tough, loud sports. If the culture were different though, I see no reason why it couldn't be considered a sport.

I did not see Americans playing badminton at all. I think they do not practise it nowhere.
