If you have two positive numbers and you multiply(-12*-6) why are you getting a positive answer?

You are getting a positive answer because when you are multiplying or dividing with to negative numbers you get positive, if you have one negative and one positive then you will get a negative because of the different signs

Because they are both negative :
+ * + = +
+ * - = -
- * + = -
- * - = +
when the signs are different, the answer is negative.
when they're the same, the answer is positive.
