First the owner buys the sweatshirt for 4$.  Then it gets marked up by 100% which is just doubling it making it $8.  After that you get 25% of 8 which is 6 cause 0.25*8 is 2, so you subtract 2 from the original answer to get 6 dollars as the sale price.
