Why shouldn't you use double negatives? It's a riddle for my Math Class

A negative times a negative is a positive. I am not sure if that's the question, but hopefully that helps if it was.

Because if something is a double negative, than the result of it would be a positive. So, it is kind of like this...

-1 x -1 = --1

-1 x -1 = 1

So, --1 = 1.
