the rectangle has a perimeter of 54 cm and the given area. Its length has 3 more than three times its width.Write and solve a system of equations to find the dimensions of the rectangle.

Side 1 = x

Side 2 = 3x+3

There are two of each side so the total is:
54 = 2(x) + 2(3x+3)

From here, just solve for x.
