Divide this figure into 3 triangles and 1 rectangle and find out each area:
Triangles:
4•3/2 = 6 units^2
There are two of the same triangles:
6•2 = 12 units^2
8•2/2 = 8 units^2
Rectangle:
8•3 = 24 units^2
