At present the world population is approximately 7.6 billion people distributed in 197 countries. The world population growth rate is 1.08% per annum, that is, with each passing year, the number of inhabitants of our planet increases about 83 million people. Although this growth rate is slightly lower than in the last century, United Nations estimates indicate that the world population could reach 10 billion people by 2055.
