The Japanese internment camps were housed in "tarpaper-covered barracks of simple frame construction without plumbing or cooking facilities of any kind." The affects on the Japanese Citizens were negative psychological effects, fear, trauma and worry were common initial psychological reactions as they were forced to deal with the stress of enforced dislocation and the abandonment of their homes, possessions, and businesses.

Hope this helps!
