In federalism the power is divided between a national government and the state governments

Federalism is a system based in democratic rules and institutions in which the power is shared between national and state governments.

The federalism wanted to eliminate disadvantages in the system. When the power is shared by them, it is not a centered power or dominant.

Which one has their own power.
