because all of the numbers have a variable attached, your first step should be to combine all numbers

8m - 2m = 6m

6m - m - m = 4m

4m - 2m = 2m

this means that 2m = 16

divide by 2 on both sides

16/2 = 8
2m/2 = m

this means m = 8 :)
