Water often depends on it's salt concentration, if placed in a HYPERtonic solution it will "Shrink". The water will move from inside the plant cell to outside. Remember: Osmosis is the movement of "Water" molecules through a selectively semi-permeable membrane from areas of 'High' TO 'Low' concentrations of water
