[tex]\boldsymbol{\mathbf{Answer}}[/tex]

[tex]\boldsymbol{\mathbf{Scale\,factor \,of\, the \,model \,is\, 0.01\,}}[/tex]

[tex]\boldsymbol{\mathbf{Step-by-step\,explanation}}[/tex]

Carlo's scaled bridge model spans 6 inch.

Actual bridge spans  50 feet.

We know that,

1 feet = 12 inches.

i.e  = [tex]{12}\times{50}[/tex]

actual bridge span = 600 inches.

Scale factor of the model is,

= [tex]\frac{6}{600}[/tex]

[tex]\boldsymbol{\mathbf{Scale factor = 0.01}}[/tex]

That means the scale model is 0.01 time smaller than actual model.
