How do I answer this equation a+4<9

To solve this, you need to isolate/get the variable "a" by itself in the inequality:

a + 4 < 9       Subtract 4 on both sides to get "a" by itself

a + 4 - 4 < 9 - 4

a < 5          [a is any number less than 5]

I’m going to try my best to explain he we know that a+4 has to be greater than 9, so what could you substitute a for that when added to 4 would give you a number over 9 (7 is a possible option)
