1. Decrease the nominator and denominator equal number times. You know that 6=2·3 and 9=3·3. Then

[tex]\dfrac{6}{9}=\dfrac{2\cdot 3}{3\cdot 3}=\dfrac{2}{3}.[/tex]

This form of a fraction is the simpliest form.

2. Increase the nominator and denominator equal number times.

[tex]\dfrac{6}{9}=\dfrac{6\cdot 3}{9\cdot 3}=\dfrac{18}{27}.[/tex]
