After Mido blames Link for the death of the Great Deku Tree, Saria defends him. When the Kokiri Forest is overrun with monsters, she leaves for the Forest Temple in an attempt to stop them. There, she is awakened as the Sage of Forest and aids Link's journey to defeat Ganondorf
