If every individual were able to pick and choose the laws they wanted to obey then they would obviously choose the ones that best benefit themselves and/or their loved ones. This would in term mean that it would at the same time encumbrance someone else which would end up taking action. This would ultimately lead to a vicious cycle of violence and chaos since someone will always be the victim.
