If f(x)=x^2+1 and g(x)=3x+1, find 2f(1)+3g(4)

finding f(1):
f(1)=1^2+1 
     =2
finding 2f(1):
2f(1)=2*2
       =4
finding g(4) first:
g(4)=3*4+1
      =13

finding 3g(4):
3g(4)=13*3
        =39
now 2f(1)+3g(4)
=4+39
=43
