Let g(n) = y

We then have y = -n + 3.

Exchange y and n.

n = -y + 3

Solve for y.

n - 3 = -y

(n - 3)/(-1) = -y/(-1)

-(n - 3) = y

Replace y with g^(-1) n.

-(n - 3) = g^(-1) n
