Deserts are extremely dry and may be either very hot or very cold. Normally, hot deserts are extremely hot during the day and can get cold at night. Because plants are limited in deserts, erosion and weathering processes change the landscape easily. This biome has a layer of soil that can either be sandy, gravelly, or stony, depending on the type of desert.
