The French and Indian War was a war between Britain and France, with the Native Americans on the French side. The war was caused in the mid-18th century, as both Britain and France wanted to extend their colonies west of the Appalachian mountains. The British won, causing the Natives & French to lose territory, and created friction between the two groups. The loss was especially hard for the Native Americans, as they lost land that belonged to their people for many generations. Hope this helped! :)
