Step-by-step explanation:

[tex]9 - \frac{x}{5} = 3 \\ 9 - 5 \times \frac{x}{5} = 3 \times 5 \\ 9 - x = 15 \\ - 9 - x = - 9 + 15 \\ - x = 6 \\ - x \div - 1 = 6 \div - 1 \\ x = - 6[/tex]
