A rectangle has an area of 18cm^2. The lengths of the sides are whole numbers. How long can each of the sides be? Give all the examples you can think of.

Answer:

Area of rectangle = l x b

18 = l x b

Factors of 18 =

1 x 18 = 18

2 x 9 = 18

3 x 6 = 18

So each of the sides can be either 1cm and 18 cm, 2cm and 9cm and 3cm and 6cm.
