What is the difference between the pectoral girdle and the shoulder joint?

Pectoral girdle is located on the dorsal side of our body between 2nd to 7th rib. It contains a cavity called as glenoid cavity where the head of humerous(upper arm) joins and forms the ball and socket joint, this joint is called as shoulder joint.
