Add 3b to both sides

[tex]ac=c-4+3b [/tex]

Subtract c from both sides

[tex]ac-c=-4+3b [/tex]

Regroup terms

[tex]ac-c=3b-4 [/tex]

Factor out the common term c

[tex]c(a-1)=3b-4 [/tex]

Divide both sides by a-1

[tex]c= \dfrac{3b-4}{a-1} [/tex]
