Answer:

It is the backbone of a democracy. Media makes us aware of various social, political and economic activities happening around the world. Media is called the fourth pillar or fourth state  due to important role of media in shaping public opinion. A democracy without media is like a vehicle without wheels.so it is called the fourth organ of the government
