Answer:

let the first number be a and the second b

a + b =11

a -b =3

a = 11 - b

11 -b -b = 3

11 -2b =3

-2b =3 -11

-2b = -8

divide both sides by -2

b = 4

a +4 =11

a =11 -4

a =7

the product of the two numbers is 7×4=28
