you can look in ur reference tables on the periodic table. sodium is Na and in each box at the bottle there is a series of numvers rhat looks like this: 2-2-4 or something like that . the last number, so 4 in this example, represents the valence electrons, or the outermost electrons. look in the boxes and look for the elements that have the same last number in the series as Na
