The zero product property means that 0a=0.

(I'm assuming that by y2 you mean y squared btw)

[tex] y^{2} 4y - 32 = 0[/tex]

[tex]4y - 32 = \frac{0}{ y^{2} } [/tex]

the zero divided by y is zero:

[tex]4y - 32 = 0[/tex]

move the 4y

[tex]-32 = 4y[/tex]

[tex] \frac{-32}{4} = y[/tex]

[tex]y = -8[/tex]

Hope that helps!
