Now when I think of solving it, I think of finding the zeros.  Now if you start with the form, for example:

[tex](x+3)(x-3)[/tex]

Then you can easily see the zeros are -3 and 3.

But if you start with the standard form:

[tex]ax^2+bx+c=0\\or\\x^2-9[/tex]

It will be harder to find the zeros and you would do the eqation or factor it.

So if your in the factored form don't go to standard to find the zeros.
