Explain why 6/15 and 3/5 are not equivalent fractions.

because the numerator and denominater were divided by 2 different numbers instead of the same number.

These numbers are not equivalent because if you multiply the denomantor (5) by 3 to get 15 you would have to also multiply the numerator (3)  by 3 but that will equal 9 not 6. Hope this helped :)
