A mixture is made from two or more substances that are different and are not joined. A compound is a substance formed when two or more elements react with each other to form chemical bonds between their atoms

An element is the most basic chemical component that can not be broken down any further

A compound is a molecule that is made up of various elements that are chemically attached

A mixture is a combination of various compounds and/or elements
