what is the solution of the equation 3x+7=1?

Our goal: Isolate x on one side.

3x+7=1

Subtract 7 on both sides.

3x=-6

Divide by 3 on both sides.

x = -2

The answer is -2. you just subtract both sides by 7 and then divide by 3
