Wavelength is also another way to state the index of refraction. It is the ratio of vacuum's wavelength to the medium's wavelength, in nm. In this problem, the index of refraction is 1.24 and the wavelength of the medium is 440 nm, thus the light's wavelength is 545.6 nm.
