suppose that y varies inversely with x, and y=3 when x=5. what is an equation for the inverse variation

The inverse variation of y=3 would be y=1/3
The inverse variation of x=5 would be x=1/5

You just need to flip the variation around.

Your answer is: y=1/3; x=1/5
