-px+r=-8x-2 add 8x to both sides
8x-px+r=-2 subtract r from both sides
8x-px=-r-2 factor left side
x(8-p)=-r-2 divide both sides by (8-p)
x=(-r-2)/(8-p) multiply right side by -1/-1
x=(r+2)/(p-8)
