Let the Variance be denoted by v and the Standard deviation be s.

The Standard deviation is the square root of the Variance of a set of data,

so [tex]s= \sqrt{v} [/tex],

thus the Standard deviation when the variance v=84 is

[tex]s= \sqrt{v}=\sqrt{64}=8[/tex],

Answer: 8
