6x−2/4=x−2
(In the problem 6x-2 is the numerator and 4 is the denominator)

-------   =     x - 2
   4

Cross multiply:-

6x - 2 = 4(x - 2)
6x - 2 = 4x - 8
6x - 4x = -8 + 2
2x = -6
x = -3  answer
