According to Freud's psychoanalysis, human's id already exists ever since we're born. It allows us to experience pleasure from several stimuli such as food, ticklish touch, warm hugs, etc.
Since all of these stimuli cause positive impacts to us, we will constantly seek this stimulus even as we grow up.
