Well if you divid 300 and 5 you get 60. So for every 1/5 is 60. So if you do 60 times 3 equals 120. So then you subtract 300 minus 120 and get 280. So there are 280 boy and 120 girl.

So,

There are 300 children.

One-fifth of 300 is 60 (60 times 5 = 30).

[tex] \frac{2}{5}[/tex] (Five-fifths minus the boys) of the children are girls.

Multiply 60 by 2.
60 * 2 = 120

There are 120 girls.
