Jamal has 65 quilt patches. He makes 2 quilts with 5 rows of 6 patches in each quilt. How many quilt patches will be left over?

5 rows of 6 patches per quilt comes out to 30 patches per quilt.  If Jamal makes 2 quilts, he will have used 60 patches, leaving 5 patches unused.

Ok so
5 rows times 6 patches in each roe is the first step.
5*6=30
30*2=60
so Jamal has 5 patches left.
