I found this online, I hope it helps

The integumentary system consists of skin, hair, and nails. Stem cell production declines with age, causing the epidermal cells to slow in their reproduction and, as a result, become larger and more irregular. This causes thinner, more translucent skin, meaning more frequent skin injuries, tearing, and infections.
