The tax on a $600 vase is $54. What should be the tax on a $1700 vase?

So a tax was mentioned, but not the tax percent, which is needed to find out that tax for a 1700 dollar vase.

Divide 54 by 600, and you get 0.09 or  9%.

1700 * 9% = 153

So your tax is $153.
