Mean is the total divided by the number of values. The total here is:
[tex]14+62+35+38+58+46+62 = 315[/tex]
then you divide by the number of values, in this case, there is 7: 
[tex] \frac{315}{7} = 45 [/tex]
so 45 is the mean
