a 10 foot flagpole casts a 4 foot shadow. At the exact time a 15 foot tree casts a shadow. What is the length of the trees shadow?

Since the shadows were casted at the same time those dimentions are in proportion

10 foot flagpole 4 foot shadow

15 foot tree ? shadow

cross multiply

15·4/10=60/10=6 foot shadow

answer is 6 foot
