The angles of a triangle are 2x, 3x, and 4x degrees. Find the value of x.

The sum of angles in a triangle is 180 degrees.

Therefore:    2x + 3x + 4x = 180
                               9x = 180      Divide both sides by 9
                               9x/9  = 180/9
                                   x  = 20

x = 20°
