“To Autumn” is a romantic ode by John Keats which was very popular in the 19th Century. It demonstrated different figures of speech, like alliteration, metaphor and personification, to name a few. Your problem phrase “Drowsed with the fume of poppies,” is a quaint way of reflecting contentment in the season of Autumn, which is also a season of fulfillment.
